Jabbertext is great because it reaches the kids instantly. Kids rarely check their emails, but they always have their cell phones with them. With Jabbertext, I can reach all 65 runners on my team, cheaply, in just a few seconds.  I can tell them about practice changes/cancelations , let them know about important events, and remind them of upcoming meetings.  I also like how easy it is to set up. I've uploaded phone numbers from databases and now the new athletes sign up on line. It takes almost no effort on my part.I've also set up a "Fans' List" so I can instanty update our friends and family on how the team is doing, right from the competition!
